What:
An educational event to introduce our Imagine Yourself program to parents of children that have special needs and their siblings.

Our programs are designed to assist children and families (teachers and professionals too) to practice relaxation and mindfulness skills. They are used to assist the parents, children with special needs, siblings and friends strengthen and deepen their ability to be mindful and relax.

Why?
We've had some very positive results for some children and families. All members of every family? No. However we've been very pleased at the feedback we've been given as have the families.

By Car:
Closest major intersections: Bayview Ave. and Sheppard Ave. East

From the 401 - take Bayview Ave. north turn east (right)
onto Sheppard Ave. East, turn north (left)
onto Hawksbury head north

Parking
We have some visitor parking here at 640, 642 and 644 Sheppard. Ave. East.

By Subway:
Exit at the Bayview Station on the Sheppard Line. Walk east until you reach Hawksbury Ave. Go north (left) until you see 644 marked on the side of the third tall building north of Sheppard Ave.

Room Location:
In the (soon to be renovated) activity room on the first floor to the left (west) of the main door at 644 Sheppard Ave. East which in on the south side of the building facing Sheppard Ave.

The room is wheel chair compatible. However, the washrooms are not yet wheel chair compatible.

What does the program do?
It gets the children and family to practice two vital skills already mentioned. They both help in reducing and controlling stress and anxiety. Several (not all) parents with children with special needs report that within less than 7- 21 days of starting to use the program and regular use (5 out of 7 days a week or more one of more of the children and or parents started to experience:
~ Better bed time routines
~ Deeper sleep
~ Shorter cycles of frustration, anger and emotional upset.
~ Less intense issues at school
~ less fighting between siblings
~ a deeper sense of inner calm

Imagine Yourself The Seminar

     Introducing the program to children
Trigger Words, Phrases and Feelings
     Key skills for children and adults to practice
     Common language dictionary of terms
Conversation with adults about their energy
Building common language with children.
Building a culture of resiliency into your family
Using the program
The potential outcomes and success rates
